The ladies talk about what Adriana wants to do next and currently she says she is exploring more of Alaska and saving up to open up her own food truck! Adriana also talks about her ambition to eventually get to a place where she can foster and adopt teenagers who need just as much love and support as any other child but unfortunately tend to be overlooked. Happy 3 Year Anniversary to Mental Maintenance Podcast! Thank you so much for your support and listenership over the past 3 years!
On this episode of Mental Maintenance Denise & Jordan tackle the complicated topic of Finances! They go through 3 questions that were answered by a ton of listeners and discuss all of the in depth answers hitting on everything from what feelings finances cause to how they affect relationships. Going through all of the answers it becomes very clear that this is a stressful topic for most people, especially right now.  Unsurprisingly, inflation is adding financial stress to 95% of M&M's who answered this survey. D & J encourage talking about this topic and not being embarassed or feeling like you can't vent about this subject because it's so important to not feel alone!

On this episode of Mental Maintenance, Denise and Jordan speak with Carissa (Nuori Creations) and Kahli (Lull Photography). After a quick update on Spin For a Cause, Carissa and Kahli introduce themselves and let us know how they met and became instant besties. Throughout their friendship they've always envisioned having their own businesses whether that was together, separate or both and now they can say that dream has become a reality because they are both small business owners in Fairbanks! On their road to success they hit a few speed bumps and in true Carissa/Khali fashion, they hit them at the same place around the same time when they worked for the same company. On this episode of Mental Maintenance, Denise and Jordan open up the discussion of Societal Norms. Why does society assume that they know what's best and how we should all be living our lives? From the things we eat to the way we parent our children and even the order in which we do things in life. (engagement, marriage, house, kids, etc.) D & J discuss all of this and listener experiences that were sent in on this topic. Both ladies are amazed that so many things influencing their daily lives are based on the experiences of people who lived long ago and decided this is the way life ought to be lived. Whew! Take a listen and send in your thoughts. Mental Maintenance may tackle this subject again in the near future!

On this very special episode of Mental Maintenance, Denise & Jordan catch up with returning guests Ashley & Nicole from episode 4. Both guests catch us up on what's been going on in their lives over the past 3 years and how they are both working through their difficult issues with bulimia and severe body dysmorphia. Nicole tells us how she has got into the real estate game as a realtor here in Fairbanks and her surprising new season of her relationship with her parents. Ashley admits that she's having a very rough time after her family moved out of state and that she recently got back into therapy. Both girls have had highs and lows since the last episode was recorded but both are killing it in their own ways. In the third and final episode of the Relationship Series, Denise & Jordan discuss the relationships they have with their children. First, they do a little light housekeeping and transition into the main topic when Denise asks a question related to the Netflix series The Ultimatum. D&J try to imagine what it will be like when their children are older and in their own romantic relationships. Then discuss what they've learned so far in their parenthood journeys and how it changed from beginning until now. They touch on what it takes to be a "good parent" and how sometimes social media can be helpful but most of the time can just feel overwhelming when it comes to parenting. A big takeaway at the end is remembering that the most important relationship in your life is the one you have with yourself, if you start there it's a good way to ensure good relationships with others!
